Custom framing
The right frame, for every work
Atelier Bernard Weber has been framing photographs, paintings and works on paper in its Brussels workshop since 1990. Choosing a frame starts with understanding the work — the relationship with your framer determines its beauty and its quality. That has been our conviction from the beginning.
What we frame
- Photographs — our speciality: exhibition prints, large formats, limited editions
- Paintings and canvases — including float frames and stretcher mounting
- Drawings, watercolours, etchings and lithographs — with conservation mounting
- Posters — from valuable vintage pieces to concert posters
Not sure about an unusual object? Send us a photo: we love a challenge.
How it works
- You get in touch — by phone, by email with a photo, or by booking an appointment at the workshop.
- We design together — moulding, mat, glass, backing: we propose several finishes and price levels, with honest advice.
- We make everything on site — in our 500 m² workshop in Etterbeek, by the same hands from start to finish.
- You collect your work ready to hang — hanging system fitted, carefully packed for transport.
Usual lead time: about 10 days. Rush jobs possible: tell us your date.
The float frame, for canvases and Dibond
The floating frame par excellence: the work seems suspended inside its frame, separated by a fine shadow gap. It is the finish galleries prefer for contemporary canvases and Dibond-mounted prints. We make our float frames to measure in our own joinery in Brussels — workshop craft that few artisans in Belgium still offer, especially in very large exhibition formats. Every wood species, every tint.
A canvas to be framed without glass, a Dibond panel to set in a frame, a stretched canvas to show off: bring the work in or send us a photo with the dimensions — we will suggest a profile and a tint, with a precise quote.
Common questions about custom framing
How much does custom framing cost in Brussels?
Every frame is made to measure, so the price depends on the dimensions, the moulding, the glass, the mounting and the quantity. There is no standard rate — send us a photo of the work and its dimensions and you will receive a free, precise, no-obligation quote, with several finishes to match your budget.
Do you frame large formats and textiles?
Yes. Our 500 m² workshop handles large formats: frames and float frames up to 160 × 270 cm. We also frame textiles, such as embroidery and fabrics.
Can I bring in an already-framed work to change the frame or glass?
Of course. Broken glass, a yellowed mat, a damaged or dated frame: we dismantle, check the condition of the work and remount it properly — in conservation quality if the work deserves it.
